The Journal of Diabetes and Its Complications (JDC) serves as a platform for healthcare practitioners and researchers, providing a space for the publication of original research on the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and management of diabetes mellitus and its complications. JDC also covers articles on the physiological and molecular aspects of glucose homeostasis.
The primary objectives of JDC are to offer valuable information to diabetes practitioners and researchers, enhancing their understanding of the mechanisms involved in diabetes and complications development and promoting improved management of individuals at risk for these complications.
Manuscripts submitted to JDC may cover a wide range of topics, spanning basic, translational, and clinical research, as well as epidemiology. The scope includes early prediabetes to late-stage complicated diabetes. Relevant topics for basic/translational reports encompass pancreatic islet dysfunction, insulin resistance, altered adipose tissue function, and mechanisms of drug action. Areas related to diabetic complications include retinopathy, neuropathy, nephropathy, peripheral vascular disease, coronary heart disease, gastrointestinal disorders, renal failure, impotence, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia.
