This handbook focuses on Stages of Fracture Healing: A Doctor’s Guide for Patient Education. Bone healing, or fracture healing, is a proliferative physiological process in which the body facilitates the repair of a bone fracture. Fractures heal by forming callus, which follows three overlapping phases following as inflammatory, reparative and remodelling. This book consists of 3 sections, which include pediatric, upper extremity, and lower extremity. This handbook was thus born, to aid in counseling on actual radiographs as visual aids reduce the communication gap and have a great impact on the mind during counseling. This is probably the first handbook of its kind. Graphic images have been added to this book, making counseling of compound fractures, tissue loss, nonunion, and implant stress fractures, more easy to explain to the patients. This book is useful to help orthopedic surgeons in their day to day practice, to save their precious time and to address the concerns of patient and relatives.
