Sickle cell disease is one of the most common monogenic diseases globally, and the first disease where the genetic etiology was defined. It is common in sub Saharan Africa, the Middle East and India. This collection explores the advantages of newborn screening for sickle cell disease.
Following this, the authors assess the costs of using continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion therapy for type 1 diabetes treatment.
